Bring your professional experience from the charity, community or social care sector to drive forward our critical grant-making support for residents experiencing hardship, and help us change more lives.
Hampton Fund is a well-established local funder. We are seeking to appoint a new Trustee to strengthen our Board who has professional expertise and strategic insight in supporting those facing financial, physical and emotional hardship. Ideally, this experience will be within the local community where we provide financial support through our grants (the Hamptons, Teddington, Twickenham and Whitton).
The perception of Richmond Upon Thames as a wealthy borough masks areas of high need and disadvantage. That means that support for those in need locally rarely comes from outside the borough and so the grants of around £2.5m we make annually, to both individuals and community organisations, form a critical part of the local support infrastructure.
As a Trustee with experience in supporting vulnerable groups, you will be involved in making decisions on a wide range of issues, influencing the strategic development of our work and bringing about change. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your professional knowledge for wider public benefit, influence the future of an established organisation, and work alongside a dedicated and experienced Board and staff team.
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with senior experience in the areas of cost-of-living support, the health service, social work, housing, children’s services and education.
It is expected that Trustees will either live, work or have another connection to the local area where we operate. We welcome applications from those without previous trustee or committee experience -training and support will be provided.
The time commitment is around 3-4 hours a month. Meetings can be both in the evening and during weekdays. They are usually in person, at the Hampton Fund Office, but with the option to join by video link if needed.
